Days Out and About 2021

Below are details and pictures of various days out that myself, friends and other museum members have had on GCS 50V, HSD 73V, B509 YAT and E187 HSF. This page of course will be updated over time! If anyone has any other pictures taken on any of these days out please let me know!

Saturday 03 July 2021

After many month of Covid-19 restrictions and lock downs, finally some good news. McGills held an open day at their Greenock Depot on Saturday 3rd of July 2021 to celebrate twenty years service in Inverclyde. There was a great turnout from both local residents and enthusiasts. A few vintage visiting vehicles attended and visitors could also enjoy a free run on either an open top bus or the first of McGills new electric buses. GCS 50V was able to attend the open day, for many years she was based at Greenock depot, not the same building but still located in Greenock. After the open day event GCS 50V had a short trip around some old haunts in Greenock before heading back to GVVT via Inchinnan Depot. This was also a depot she would have been based at back in her Clydeside Scottish days. A wonderful day and just so good to be able to finally get back out with the buses,

McGills Open Day

Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 August 2021

Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd August 2021 was the date for this years annual open weekend at the Scottish Vintage bus museum, Lathalmond (SVBM). Due to Covid-19 restrictions there was no open weekend in 2020 so the 2021 event was eagerly awaited. This is always one of the highlights of the year and 2021 was another successful year. A good fun weekend, this year just my Clydeside Scottish Leyland Leopard GCS 50V attended. A number of newly restored vehicles were on show this year.

This is always one of the highlights of the year and 2021 was another successful year with a many visiting vehicles. A good fun weekend, this year just my Clydeside Scottish Leyland Leopard GCS 50V attended from Lathalmond and completed a run into Glasgow city centre with a healthy number of passengers.
