Days Out And About 2016

Below are details and pictures of various days out that myself, friends and other museum members have had on GCS 50V, HSD 73V, B509 YAT and E187 HSF. This page of course will be updated over time! If anyone has any other pictures taken on any of these days out please let me know!

Sunday 15th May 2016

Sunday 15th May was the 2016 spring running day at SVBM Lathalmond as in previous years the weather stayed dry for most of the day, indeed turned out not bad for the time of year. The spring SVBM running day in May always signals the start of the rally season and is usually the first time my buses awake from the winter storage. This year it was the turn of my Eastern Scottish Volvo Citybus E187 HSF to take part in the event, providing a few free runs. My Orkney Coaches Bedford YNT B509 YAT was also on display.

Saturday 25th June 2016

Today GCS 50V completed a short afternoon tour for the Scottish Branch of The Omnibus Society. We departed Dunfermline at 15.00 and took the scenic road to Culross. After a short stop we continued over the Kincardine Bridge through Grangemouth and called into the SRPS Station at Bo'ness. As we arrived we were greeted by 68007 in steam joined shortly after by 20 020. After departing Bo'ness we returned to Dunfermline via South Queensferry, the Forth Bridge and Rosyth. A few heavy summer showers, but a great afternoon out.

Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st August 2016

This was the weekend of the annual SVBM two day open day event held at Lathalmond. Two of my vehicles took part this year and a third B509 YAT watched from the side lines. I WILL get round to getting her back on the road one day! The weather was terrible on the Saturday but much better on the Sunday, helped out in the bar again this year which was again fun. Camped over on the Saturday night with a few drinks catching up with friends. A great weekend was had by all and again no vehicles stuck in mud!

Sunday 25 September 2016

Stagecoach Scotland West held an open day event at their newly opened Cumbernauld depot. The depot, a former Scottish Bus Group depot laterally operated by First group was closed a few years ago. Stagecoach have now purchased the site and reopened it. The event was held to celebrate the launch of a fleet of new Enviro 400MMC vehicles at the depot. Although I was not able to attend on the day Robert Gray took E187 HSF along to the event with a few other GVVT residents.
