Days Out And About 2019

Below are details and pictures of various days out that myself, friends and other museum members have had on GCS 50V, HSD 73V, B509 YAT and E187 HSF. This page of course will be updated over time! If anyone has any other pictures taken on any of these days out please let me know!

Tuesday 09 April 2019

After a long winter rest, GCS 50V and E187 HSF were final ready for annual MOT test early April 2019. GCS 50V required very little work to prepare for this years test. Unfortunately, the same could not be said for E187 HSF as she required much work replacing defective air bag assemblies at the rear of the vehicle. Both vehicle went for testing on the same day, 09 April 2019.

Sunday 21 April 2019

Easter weekend was spent at GVVT. The weather was fantastic and I managed to get GCS 50V out for a run to Kilmacolm on the Sunday. Parked round the corner from my parents house and joined the for some lunch. This was GCS 50V first run out following her MOT at the beginning of the month. Very pleasant run with the old girl performing very well.

Sunday 19 May 2019

Sunday 19 May 2019 was the annual Scottish Vintage Bus Museum (SVBM) Lathalmond spring open day. This year I had a choice of taking either GCS 50V or E187 HSF. In the end I decided to take E187 HSF, to enable me to return her to her SVBM home. Later in the day I took friend John Kennedy's Volvo Citybus G545 RDS from SVBM back to GVVT. The weather held up for the day and I got some photos of E187 HSF next to her modern day replacement. E187 HSF completed a couple of free runs to Saline with healthy passenger numbers on both trips. Good to see a number of new vehicles attending this year. Fantastic day and always a highlight of the year.

Sunday 30 June 2019

The 2019 West End Festival took place on Sunday 30 June 2019. Although I was unable to attend by Clydeside Scottish Leopard GCS 50V was able to participate. The West End Festival is Glasgow’s largest cultural event and every June takes over this popular area of Glasgow with a wide variety of events and performances. Last year over 400 events took place in 80 venues.

This is always one of the highlights of the year and 2019 was another successful year. Good fun weekend, this year just my Eastern Scottish Volvo Citybus E187 HSF attended.
