Days Out And About 2012
Below are details and pictures of various days out that myself, friends and other museum members have had on GCS 50V, HSD 73V, B509 YAT and E187 HSF. This page of course will be updated over time! If anyone has any other pictures taken on any of these days out please let me know!
Sunday 20th May 2012
Today was the annual spring running day at SVBM Lathalmond. The weather was great and although fewer vehicles attended this year, visitor numbers were good and an excellent day was had. HSD 73V was already at Lathalmond along with my Orkney Coaches Bedford, so we travelled through with E187 HSF, my Eastern Scottish Volvo Citybus. Both E187 HSF and HSD 73V took part in the event.

Sunday 24th June 2012
It can sometimes be rather useful owning a double deck bus, when you have a lot of items to move! Today I had arranged to collect a spare Leyland 680 engine and Leyland gearbox for GCS 50V, some windows, windscreens and other Y Type items. Whilst there was no way the engine and gearbox would fit inside the bus, the rest of the items fitted well and after loading up at Beith we set off back to GVVT. We stopped for a photo at Ibrox, the owners of the building in the background of the photo, never far from the news in 2012!

Vehicles from the GVVT collection were on display at Glasgow's George Square on Wednesday 4th July 2012 as part of the the Queens Jubilee Tour. My Fleetline HSD 73V was one of the vehicles there. The Queen and Prince Philip attended at lunch time for a short public walk about, then headed to the City

Saturday 18th & Sunday 19th August 2012
This was the weekend of the annual SVBM 2 day open day event held at Lathalmond. Since my friend James was able to attend and also drive my Fleetline, I was able to have all 4 of my buses there for the full weekend. The weather was not bad, we camped over on the Saturday night with a BBQ and a few drinks catching up with friends. A great weekend was had by all, but this will be remembered as the year my Fleetline got stuck in the mud and needed the help from not one but two tow trucks!
